What is Mixed Greens?
Mixed Greens sells original, contemporary art online and in its New York gallery. Founded in 1999 on the belief that great art should be accessible to everyone, the company currently represents more than thirty artists. Mixed Greens also provides art consulting services to architects, designers, corporations, and individuals, and coordinates “Art Parties” that people can throw for their friends and family.

How do I become a Mixed Greens artist?
Please send a resumé, artist statement, press clips, reproductions of your current work (either slides or digital images with a screen resolution of at least 300 DPI), and any other pertinent supporting information to:

What is a Mixed Greens Art Party?
You supply the friends, we supply the art and entertainment. In this case, the art is original, contemporary, and affordable; the entertainment is a brief discussion—by a friendly, knowledgeable art expert—about how to purchase artwork by some of the most original and diverse artists working today.

You and your guests can view, discuss, and buy original art in a relaxed, familiar setting. And don’t worry: we don’t come over and bang nails into your walls to hang the art. Wearing special art-handling gloves, partygoers pass around smaller pieces to view firsthand; each guest also gets a catalog of dozens of works to flip through before, during, and after the presentation.

BUYING ART, SHIPPING, RETURNS, ETC.

How do I purchase artwork from Mixed Greens?
You can buy art from either an artist’s portfolio, or from any detailed view of an artwork. It’s simple: when you have selected one or more pieces of art for purchase, and added them to your shopping cart, you can then proceed to Checkout, where you’ll be asked to provide standard billing information, e.g., name, billing address, credit card number, etc. When you’ve provided all the pertinent info, you’ll be provided with a detailed list of the art you have chosen to buy, and for security’s sake will be asked one last time to authorize your purchase. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, Discover, and American Express. Please note: You must be a registered Mixed Greens user to buy art at mixedgreens.com.

Is it safe to use my credit card to make a purchase on this website?
It’s absolutely safe. The Mixed Greens website uses advanced encryption technology and a secure server (SSL) to transmit your online order and ensure that your credit card information is secure. Please note: For your safety, we do not store your credit card information once a sale is authorized.

How long will it take for me to receive my purchase?
You will receive a personal email from a Mixed Greens customer service representative within one business day of placing your order to let you know when you can expect it. Some artwork is ready to ship from our office immediately, but others (particularly photographs) may take a few weeks if they must be printed or framed, or if they’ve been included in an exhibition. We do promise to ship all purchases as quickly as possible, and we will stay in close contact with you about shipping dates.

What is Mixed Greens’ return policy?
If you are not happy with your purchase, you can return it to Mixed Greens for a full refund and Mixed Greens will assume the cost of the return shipping.

Here’s what to do:

You must notify us that you plan to return the artwork within fourteen days of receiving it by either sending an email to info@mixedgreens.com or calling customer service at (212) 331-8888 or toll-free at (866) MGREENS. We will tell you what to do from there. Be sure to hold on to the original packaging materials; we only accept returns that are packaged exactly as they were sent to you.

What should I do if my artwork arrives damaged?
If you can tell by looking at the box that the artwork has been damaged in shipment, do not open it. If you do discover damage, email us immediately at info@mixedgreens.com and we will explain how to proceed.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we do ship internationally, although please be advised that all duties and border taxes are the responsibility of the purchase/customer. Of course, just as with shipments within the U.S., if you have any concerns or special delivery needs, please email us at info@mixedgreens.com, or call our customer service department at (212) 331-8888, or toll-free at (866) MGREENS, and we’ll be happy to help.

Will I be charged sales tax?
Purchasers requesting delivery within the State of New York agree to pay all applicable sales tax due on the sale of the Artwork, Product(s) and/or Service(s). Effective June 1, 2003, NYS and NYC sales tax rate have changed to a combined NYC rate of 8.375%.

When will my credit card be charged?
When will my credit card be charged? Although your credit card account’s funds will be held at the time of purchase, we will not officially charge your account until the work has shipped, unless the artwork you are purchasing is a commissioned piece, or series. In that case, your account will be charged at the time your order is placed. Also, a deposit may be required for some photography purchases.
