Mary Temple: For the Millionth Time
August 14–September 6, 2003
Closing party: September 5, 6–8 p.m.

Mixed Greens is pleased celebrate the completion of Mary Temple’s two-year artistic odyssey, the 1,000,000 Ellipsoids project. Mary has always been interested in small gestures, and the investigation of continuity and repetition. Since Monday, October 1, 2001, she has drawn hundreds of thousands of ellipses in monochrome ink—each day working on a different piece of vellum, and creating a different drawing (different in number, color, and pattern) of 1,000 to 5,000 figures. The drawings are sequential, with each day's work adding to the previous number in the continuum toward one million.
